Update #2020.03.11

SISB Pracha Uthit

Click here for memo (EN, TH, CH)

Which are the high-risk countries that warrant a mandatory 14-day quarantine?

According to the directive by the Ministry of Education of Thailand, all parents, students, residents who live in the same household as our students, teachers and staff of all schools in Thailand must be placed on a 14-day quarantine starting from the day of arrival to Thailand, if they have visited the following high-risk countries/areas: China, Macau, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Iran, Italy, France, Germany and Spain.

Must a child be quarantined for 14 days if he/she had contact with a person who had travelled to a high-risk country/area? (child did not travel)

Yes. Please refer to the following directive issued by the Ministry of Education of Thailand on February 28, 2020.

“In case that the government officers, teachers and educational personnel, officers under the Ministry of Education and all divisions, students in all schools and universities under the Ministry of Education have family members returned from at-risk countries or have had close contact with those who are suspected to be an infected case, they must not attend class or not go to work for 14-day self-quarantine at home.”

With effect from February 28th, 2020, any personnel which falls under the directive above will need to be quarantined for 14 days.

Who needs to be quarantined and when does it start?

CASE STUDY

Family member/resident/visitor arrives in Thailand on Feb 28th, 2020, from a high-risk country/area. Family member/resident/visitor who had travelled to high-risk country/area, and child (did not travel) both need to be quarantined for 14 days, even though no one has tested positive for COVID-19. Feb 28th, 2020 is counted as the first day of quarantine.

Does the 14-day quarantine apply to transits in airports located in high-risk countries/areas?

Yes. A person who had made transits in airports located in high-risk countries/areas will need to be quarantined for 14 days upon arrival in Thailand.

Can a parent who had travelled to high-risk countries/areas drop off/pick up his/her child at school?

No. Anyone who had travelled to high-risk countries/areas should be quarantined for 14 days and should not visit the school premises.

Does SISB conduct passport checks on its community to ascertain their travel history?

No. SISB does not have the policy to check passports at this moment. However, we conduct stringent travel declaration checks on parents/guardians, teachers, students, staff and all residents who live in the same household as our students. We expect our community to be socially responsible in this current situation.

Who needs to declare their travel details?

All students, staff, teachers, parents and those who live in the same household as our students will need to complete a travel declaration form if they are travelling overseas, using the respective links:
